The chapters are written by leading experts, clearly illustrated with line drawings, clinical photos and diagnostic radiology images. Breast Surgery is divided into sections following the patterns of patient management from diagnosis through treatment and reconstruction. Part One, "Management of Common Presenting Problems" contains concepts and procedures that are primarily diagnostic and may be therapeutic. Organized by presenting complaint, these procedures (mostly office based) reflect the manner in which patients are referred. Part two: "Surgical Approach and Perioperative Care", guides the clinician through the best procedure for a given diagnosis. This section provides material on choice of surgical procedure, tricks and tips to avoid complications, and potential pitfalls. The authors also include management of complications. Lastly, Part Three, "A Primer on Plastic Surgery of the Breast", gives details of common plastic surgery procedures. Not intended to replace a text reference, Breast Disease instead offers a concise manual to provide practical advise for office based surgical procedures for both breast specialists and general surgeons.
